2. Think about how you want your name to appear on the ballot and what you would like to be your ballot designation. (ballot designation: three words or less to describe your primary occupation or vocation.)
3. Complete a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) available at the Fair Political Practice Commission’s website: https://www.fppc.ca.gov/(Check the “Candidate” box, enter the election year under “Type of Statement” on the cover page, and fill out any schedules that apply)
4. Complete Campaign Statements if you:
a. do NOT plan on raising or spending any money – Form 470
b. plan on spending up to $1,999 – Form 470 & 501
c. plan on spending over $2,000 – Form 410 &501
